      High Expectations

      Pros

      Good training resources, benefits and underwriting practices. Dept is well respected internally as experts to the point of making staff attractive to competition.

      Cons

      Extremely high expectations create bad work life balance, salary increases only every two years even for excellent employees and not allowed to take granted vacation without stigma.

      Pros

      Compensation and benefits are quite good. There's flexibility with schedules (working from home, if needed, etc.) Most co-workers are friendly and great to work with.

      Cons

      Little to no opportunity for advancement unless in the Hartford office. Lately there has been a mass exodus of workers -- new people come on board and leave in a year or two. It's hard to get anything accomplished due to lack of direction.
