The county benefits including paid parental leave and the ability to work remotely are huge positives.

Cons

Any raise must be approved by the commissioners court and go through the county budget. That happens once a year.

Cons

If you get hurt, workers comp will fight you every step to try and get you fixed while the county rushes you back before you're ready. You're better off dead than hurt.
