Pros

Low pace, small workload, no need to stay after work ever, good office space, nice cafeteria, parking included, downtown office, nice young immediate boss, great retirement and healthcare plans

Cons

Older generation has a lot to say, no new methods needed or wanted, designs are not a priority, department’s big boss is not at all empathic with lower chain of command, no chances of getting a big salary increase

Pros

You can become a rock star at Travis County by being thoughtful and working hard. You are surrounded by dedicated professionals. There are some slackers, but not many. The county offers great benefits in a great city (Austin).

Cons

Some departments are underfunded which makes getting the work done difficult.
