Usually don't have to work more than 40 hours/week (but this is changing) A great deal of diversity in hiring Good benefits (although this too, unfortunately is changing)

Poor, politically motivated management Fairly poor in hiring solid technical people Benefits seem to be in a "pay more for less" spiral Limited promotion opportunities Severely limited pay increases
