Pros
Pay is good but below industry standards. Health insurance, product promo and 401K match contribution is really good. Fun holiday parties and the office itself is clean. Lots of volunteer opportunities which is important to me.
Cons
Steppingstone to have on your resume but understand you would be getting into a toxic work environment. Management is very quick to point a finger when something isn’t working but forgets that three are pointed back at them. Must be willing to put your family life on the back-burner and work your butt off for little reward. I wouldn’t bother applying if you have any long-term goals especially as a woman. The review on Jan. 2nd was very true, at a company meeting the CEO stood up in front of everyone and said, “This is a boys club, sorry ladies”. I didn’t know we were living in the 1950’s again because not only was it said out in the open, but management makes it very obvious that women will only be here to support. After that review was written, upper management started an internal investigation as to who wrote the review, which is considered workplace harassment. Employees were told to post good reviews in order to counterbalance the bad and to help boost the ratings. Upper Management built a company with their friends and unless you’re one of them don’t even bother moving up or actually having an opportunity to be heard or make a decision. Management will use you to get to the next level, then when they’ve exhausted you with work overload, no support and no life balance, they will find a way to push you out. I actually overheard upper management tell a woman directly to her face that her idea sounded better coming from her male counterparts’ mouth. The company has no training and management will throw you to the wolves and see if you survive. Morale is poor throughout; the toxic environment isn’t exclusive to one department and multiple people behind the scenes have described the environment as having Stockholm syndrome. Management has created a culture with little to no professionalism and lack of respect for other people and their time. Meetings are always late, so it pushes your meeting time out and you’re still expected to be there and be ready even if the meeting before ran 2 hours late or gets moved to the next morning. It’s become a “Do as I say not as I do” leadership. Everything has to filter through the president, so it creates a frustrating bottleneck in the process that even frustrates vendors. When responsibilities are passed off, the higher ups are usually missing or difficult l to get ahold of making projects come to a standstill. Management leaves early or goes on unnecessary trips with the boys, causing yet another bottle neck. The culture doesn’t promote a culture of personal growth plans which keeps the work stagnate and very hard to feel part of the bigger picture. Finally, company meetings are a huge joke. Poor speaking by our management which are very numbers driven and doesn’t do much by way of motivating people. It’s almost laughable coming from the CEO watching them make speeches which consist of inside jokes that mean nothing to the rest of the company, and acknowledgements for people who are just friends with the higher ups instead of actually looking at what’s going on the their company and applauding those who deserve it. Overall a lack of disconnect across the board in this company.
