Pros

Discount on ridiculously over priced bikes.

Cons

Work with racists. Misogynists. Weak HR. Double standards. Difficult to move into other departments. Senior management will repeat themselves until they blue in the face but do nothing to implement solutions. Training is atrocious.

Pros

The people I work with directly are kind and helpful with few exceptions.

Cons

Unnecessary stress caused by constant, dramatic policy changes. Expectation to work excessive hours to organize and staff events outside the stores. Policy of understaffing means inability to take time off.

Pros

Above average compensation in retail. Nice products with deep discounts. Lots of surprise pizza parties!

Cons

Trek loves wage theft. Trek says to do whatever it takes to take care of the customer and deliver great hospitality. Service department is expected to turn repairs around in 24hrs or less with minimal staff and no overtime. Unpaid/unreported OT is a commonplace. Mandatory online training is also expected to be completed at home. Training videos and weekly video updates often make references to working off the clock, doing market research/secret shopping at competitors stores on your own time (because realistically you can’t leave work to go to a competitor and secret shop) with enough plausible deniability. When confronted about it/clarification on duties, are always told you should always get paid, but then use buzz words like be a team player and take care of the customer. Managers will hold back purchasing of supplies and/or tools because it comes out of their bonus. Also will not turn away repairs worth more than the bike because if it is slightly better than it came in, we did our job. When serious safety issues with customers bikes are brought up, I was told to shut up and do the work, if the customer gets hurt or dies it’s ok, we have insurance.
