Pros

discounts on bikes and equipment, good cafeteria, casual dress code, onsite fitness opportunities, motivated coworkers, bike to work benefits (although this was never something I noticed being encouraged on a daily basis), someone without family who can work the required off hours while getting discounts on great gear and possibly travel for work would probably love it

Cons

little work/life balance, employees in Waterloo "follow the sun" and provide round the clock support instead of leveraging global staff, little project management/prioritization, departments operated in silos with favoritism for certain managers which created a difficult and unsatisfying work environment for other departments

We regret to hear that you didn’t have a healthy work/life balance experience while working at Trek. We aim to provide employees with the resources they need to have a decent work/life balance. We are committed to constantly improving this and look for new ways to do so.

Pros

benefits are ok, not as good as they are sold, lots of hoops to jump through. nice people, cool product, pay is getting better, my boss is nice guy.

Cons

lots of comments on here about great work-life balance. come work on the mfg side of the wall. 10 hour days, 6 days a week and we have to use vacation to get a saturday off. other side comes in at 830 rides their bike at noon for an hour, leaves by 5 and never around on a saturday unless it's Trek 100 weekend or there is a ride scheduled Communication is struggle. We never really are told or explaned to us why the production schedule change so much. Mfg gets blamed for being late or producing poor quality when many times we are challenged by our supply chain and vendors.

We are sorry to hear these issues are going on and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We are committed to solving these issues and are focused on breaking down “the wall” between front of house and back of house and improving communication. Our goal to is standardize policies and guidelines wherever possible and try to over-communicate to employees to keep them in the loop. Especially on things that directly affect them. There will always be differences between jobs, but we will do everything we can to make it as fair as possible. We care about you and all employees and hope you are beginning to see the changes our new manufacturing leadership team is implementing. We want all of our employees to be happy, respected, and part of making Trek a great place to work.

Easy Work....but.....

Pros

The hourly pay was good but, that was the first pay raise that was given in 8+yrs. That was sad.

Cons

Most of the people that work there are very "clique-like". So you are made to feel like an "outsider". Not many people there are respectful. Lots of foul language. I'm not a prude, but it seems like every five minutes someone is swearing, including some of the group leaders.
