Pros

You get the support you need to build high quality homes. This is a big deal, if you are the kind of Construction Manager that loves his job. It almost feels like you're working for a small company, even though you really aren't. Your quality of life is much higher here, than at other builders I've worked for in the past. You typically don't get so over loaded that you need to work late, or on the weekends. I've haven't worked a Saturday yet, because I haven't needed too. The pay is great, and benefits are good. Sales and Construction work as a team, instead of the typical Sales vs. Construction mentality. All buyer communication goes through sales, there's no giving your number out to the buyers while you're building their home. This allows you to focus on getting the homes built, instead of returning calls all day long.

Cons

The benefits recently took a hit. They are still good, but not as over the top as they were before. Keeping up with the safety requirements can get tough, and if you don't keep up with them, it will cost you pretty good money on your bonus. You have to follow them, and more importantly, you have make your trades follow them. This is probably the biggest issue you'll have working here.

Tri Pointe Homes Response

Thanks for the feedback. We are proud of achieving consistently high scores on teamwork between sales and construction on our homeowner surveys. Our leadership emphasizes collaboration between departments and that trickles down to the field as well. Our benefits are currently being reviewed by our parent company and enhancements to our programs are being investigated for the new year. Though our benefit plans are very competitive within our industry, our parent company understands the value of our employees and wants to continually improve on the benefit program offering so we can continue to attract and maintain a talented workforce. Our safety programs are stringent. We have watched them evolve over time. We are proud that we were one of the first residential home building companies to put safety programs in place and though they can be challenging we know we are doing the right thing by keeping the safety of our employees and our partners in building as a top priority. Please approach your veteran co-workers, area manager, or our safety adviser with any questions you may have. I'm sure they will be happy to share their experience and assist you with this challenge.
