Pros

Tripadvisor has long attracted a talented, passionate workforce Site is recognized globally, having transformed how consumers plan travel

Cons

Leadership has failed to evolve the company in ways that monetize its enviable traffic New additions to leadership, while smart, have degraded what was once a thriving culture

We have exciting plans for Trip in 2021 and beyond, and we are well underway working on new ways to engage with our monthly audience of over 400million members. This is in no small part due to some amazing leaders we have introduced to our company - not without some bumps along the way, but we wouldn't be on the same path without them. Any changes to leadership at an ELT level impact the culture of a business, and we have introduced some new ways of thinking and operating to take us to the next stage of growth and development - but we believe the core of what has made this a great place to work for so many years remains. Nothin we are doing is a copy of any other business I know of - so stick with us, and hopefully as as the travel industry gets back on its feet, and we get some major launches underway in the next 6 months, you’ll agree too that the best years for Tripadvisor lay ahead of us.

Great Benefits - AWEFUL Management

Pros

Benefits - Free food, healthcare, snacks, events, etc

Cons

Manager - Micromanagement - Fear Tactics - When a mistake happened, instead of "Here is what you did wrong, let's work together and make sure this won't happen moving forward". He/She would "Tell me what you did wrong. Why did you do THAT? How can I trust you anymore? That's it, I'm taking you from key accounts." - Unapproachable - He/She would say "If you have any questions, let me know". When asked, he/she responded, "Read through all the documents and figure it out yourself. Get back to me when you can't find the answer." Work Environment - Boring

Micromanaged plus ignorant/incompetent manager

Pros

Just the free food and office!!! Because the rest is just sales pitch. All other benefits is for the engineers and some other departments.

Cons

Gave 1 star for the free food. I took the job here because of the name TA has and the benefits. I regret my decision so much because the benefits TA offers are only for the engineers and every other department. In my department we are seriously micromanaged and we have the most ignorant manager one can ever have. He doesn't know anything, every time we ask him a question he tells us to ask someone else. He is just sitting there and looking at numbers and gets paid a lot of money. He doesn't know how to talk to people despite all the training TA supposedly offers to their managers. There is no work life balance. I felt so motivated when I started but they easily rub happiness off your face when you find out that everything your recruiter said was mostly a sales pitch. I never felt more unhappy at a company. I drag coming in everyday and honestly I can't wait to leave, this place, better to say my department is giving me depression. I just wish u had applied to a different department, I do not want to wait a year to move elsewhere.
