Totally Corporate now

Pros

Good Pay (Although considered entry level for this kind of work), Good Co-Workers, Good Location ( If you like being Overseas). Great Training and instructors. Good stepping stone if you want to contract for awhile, build a network of contacts, and go on to something bigger since you may

Cons

Completely corporate at levels above Project Manager. Since being absorbed by Constellis Group, any kind of hope is now gone. Corporate would rather cut corners and save every penny possible than keep their deployed personnel happy. Benefits and bonuses are rare when they used to be common. Corporate would rather send brand new guys overseas and collect $49K per new hire (From State Department. Reimbursement for "cost of training")than retain experienced guys. Once you finish your second rotation, you're basically expendable. You may stay home on leave longer than you expect, and you don't get paid on leave. Apply for another job while you work for TC just in case you get left home. Then you at least have something to fall back on.

Pros

Flexible schedule that was very family friendly depending on your manager. Before the buy-out, the company culture was close-knit and morale was very important. Great teams that worked very hard for the company while watching each others backs.

Cons

After the buy-out, all of the Pros went away. They stripped benefits, took away a few paid holidays and created a toxic environment. Things may have improved since I left but I can't see that happening if it kept its current upper management.

Pros

TC had some pretty good benefits when I worked there many years ago. The people were also the best part - I made some life long friends there. There were also many couples who met there and ended up getting married. I can't speak to how the company is today because I don't necessarily agree with its direction.

Cons

The EMT has become greedy and doesn't care about its loyal employees any more. They've let go of employees that have been with the company since day 1...They've turned the company into an employee owned company again which further supports the fact that it's a dying company. TC is struggling to find their place in the future and are making stupid decisions because of it.
