Growing Pains

Pros

Remote-first company policy is much appreciated.

Cons

Since the company was acquired by Advance (VC firm), the company has bought up competition and forged ahead with too many products without adequate support for the older ones. Many employees have left for more efficiently focused responsibilities, better pay and better leadership elsewhere.

A total mess

Pros

Good work/life balance Middling pay Many smart and professional coworkers Decent Benefits A well intentioned mission They will continue to make money and be successful at a macro level with almost no thought required.

Cons

Leadership is chaotic and insensitive (one of the highest level Tech org people has said flippant and disrespectful things about DE&I) Lots of turnover currently, without rehiring positions that have left. HR department is clueless and chaotic as well (I haven't known who to talk to on that team ever while working here and it changes maybe once per quarter). Bad collaboration/communication between departments Budget is tight and pennies are pinched despite increasing market value Hard to move up the ranks (but this is being addressed and seems genuine)

Pros

Amazing tool for teachers and students which makes selling the solution fun

Cons

Company focus is primarily around HE, not K12; thus, much turnover

Thank you for your feedback. I'm happy you believe we have an amazing tool and selling is fun, but concerned you gave us such a low rating overall. As the K12 sales leader, I’d like to understand more about your belief we only focus on Higher Ed. We have an awesome K-12 sales team, amazing products and lots of opportunity in this market. I’m really excited about the focus we have on products that enhance and grow our existing offerings to middle and high school students. I encourage you to reach out to me or anyone on the people team as we would appreciate the opportunity to hear how we can do better as we continue to support the K12 market. - Steph Gladfelter, Senior Director K12 Sales
