Two Chairs reviews

Part of what drew me to Two Chairs was their stated value of protecting the clinician experience and our quality of life. Therapists that are taken care of are better providers to their clients. So many mental health companies are sweatshops and treat their clinicians terribly. Many of us flocked to Two Chairs in hopes of finding a company that actually treated us with respect. And for a few years, Two Chairs lived up to their stated values. Every decision they have made in the last 6 months goes directly against that value. Leadership is making erratic changes and is giving us less and less time to adjust to these constant changes. They stopped listening to clinician feedback and are clearly sucking up to either shareholders or insurance companies, because the changes being made are NOT coming from licensed clinicians with boots on the ground doing the hard work. Our no-shows and late-cancellations used to count toward our weekly utilization percentages. It was a saving grace to do documentation and have a few lighter weeks here and there to manage burnout and still love your job. They gave us around 4-6 weeks notice that we would no longer be afforded that luxury. What does that mean for us? Not meeting utilization? No raise for you! There's more pressure to boot clients for no shows so we can meet numbers. All so some c-suite tech bro's quarterly spreadsheet looks neat and tidy. This place's humanity is slowly draining and management is already starting to gaslight employees that the changes are "reasonable." We all have to adjust to changes, sure, but when its back to back with no extra compensation for more work and less benefits... this is beyond employees needing to learn stress management skills. Two Chairs is changing. Because of the decision to destabilize our utilization criteria, barely anyone is meeting their weekly client numbers now its summer and people are going on vacations. This is a part of life as a therapist. Its also a chance for US to get a break and not always have a grind of 5-8 people a day. As of today, leadership gave us *24 hours notice* that we are required to add another person to our caseload to make up for the clients on vacation. Where are we supposed to put them? In my already packed schedule that has a few one off openings while clients are traveling? I have never in my life been given so little notice to add another client to an already busy caseload that is FULL. Even the sweatshops I worked for as an intern gave a heads up for changes happening "next quarter." At least those places were honest about who they were. Two Chairs leadership has lost their way and are making the mistakes every mental health company makes. They shortened our break times by making us have longer sessions, they changed their business model to short-term therapy (even though we're not allowed to say we're short term to clients), and have caused tremendous trauma to clients who have developed real relationships with their therapists and have to be kicked out even though no one wants this. Don't work here. By the time all of us that knew how good it once was have left, it'll be just another shady mental health company that disrespects incredibly hard working clinicians and sets its clients up for instability.
