Pros

opportunity for growth professionally, positive work culture, good team members, great projects.

Cons

lack of controlled processes, lack of accountability, lack of a quality management system, lack of a quality team. Bad work/life balance working long days is typical with the understaffed business structure. Not a disability friendly company by any stretch of the definition, Employees must use limited PTO for sick time off, and the expectation is that you will come into the office when sick, not missing a day. There are too many times when the expectation of "figuring it out" is applied liberally to address issues thereby creating a guaranteed event arising in the future of an unaddressed surprise due to a lack of consideration from relevant stakeholders. i.e. you don't know, what you don't know.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to hear you’ve found opportunities to grow professionally, enjoy working with your team, and value the projects you’ve been part of. Those are important aspects of our culture, and we appreciate your role in shaping that experience. We also hear your concerns—particularly around process control, accountability, quality systems, and work-life balance. These are not small issues, and we’re actively working to improve structure, staffing, and support across the organization as we grow. Your observations about how gaps in communication and unclear expectations can lead to downstream problems are valid, and we want to avoid that kind of stress on our teams. Regarding disability inclusion and time-off practices, we are committed to providing a respectful and compliant work environment for all team members. If you’ve experienced otherwise, we encourage you to share that directly with your company’s HR partner or another trusted supervisor or leader so we can better understand and address those concerns. We appreciate your advice about looking to other industries and investing in new capabilities. That’s an important perspective, and it’s something we are working toward thoughtfully as we scale. We strive to innovate! Thank you again for your feedback and for your continued contributions to U.S. Engineering.
