Pros

Large company with multiple geographic locations that allow you to transfer between locations and departments

Cons

Demanding workload, there is a lot of rhetoric about work life balance however the demands of the job dont alow for this balance.

Pros

UBS is a true meritocracy where you are evaluated on your skills and what you bring to the table versus the face time that most bankers have to put in. I did my MBA summer and internship there, and because I had such a positive experience, I decided to return full-time after i completed my MBA.

Cons

It is an investment bank after all. Thus, work life balance does not really exist. Though, UBS appears to be more fair than other banks on Wall Street. Also, UBS pays slightly less than other banks on Wall Street. That is something to consider when someone who is doing the same job as you is paid 20% more a few blocks away.

Pros

close to home, great for work life balance. they have a diverse culture (been with them for 15 years). moving up or laterally within the company is encouraged.

Cons

getting promoted is very hard. some departments are not as accomodating to people with families and require longer hours.
