      fair pay for 9 to 5 work

      Pros

      good work/life balance, IT positions are pretty much 9 - 5 in the Chicago office. good time off/vacation policy. technology seems to be fairly up to date.

      Cons

      lack of growth opportunity and slow salary increase (I've heard that some employees do not receive a raise for 3 straight years!). the work is pretty mudane in the Chicago office. for better career advancement and more challenging work, have to relocate to Stamford office.

      Pros

      In current market its a safe haven as its backed by a nationalized swiss bank . Also the management was smart enought to write off its bad assets before anyone else when the mortgage meltdown started.

      Cons

      they stopped serving beer on fridays :( . The headoffice is at Stamford , so lot of projects are run out of Stamford . So for the NY/NJ folks, you might have to make a trip to Stamford once a while , may be more often in some cases

      Pros

      Work location is easy to reach by ferry and car. Business leadership is excellent.

      Cons

      IT management has drastically changed in the past 2 years. New management has reverted to nepotism and hired all Sr. Management from prior firm. Old managers from UBS, some with the firm for more than 15 years, were fired or encouraged to find new jobs and have all left. Key decisions in IT are now made by a select few and not consistent with business needs or wants. The firm is making very bad choices about technology and spending money on foolish projects while letting core systems fall apart due to lack of funding and resource support.
