Pros

It's a positive place to work with a healthy work-life balance. People do strive to do their best there, and if you show initiative, it will be rewarded with advancement and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Cons

At the moment, the company is going to a bit of a reputational crisis. Having to explain that it's not an "evil" company gets a little old. Also, there's a lot of tension between different departments. The banking side of things looks down on the rest of the company, and by and large no one respects HR.

Pros

Great place to learn all of the banking products. Movability is encouraged. Always get feedback from management, and you are encouraged to be proactive and take charge. Work/Life balance is defintely a plus at UBS. Great way to work in a truely global Investment Bank, be able to attend meetings and conference call throught out the world. Everyone treats you equally, and the managers are willing to help to enhance your skills.

Cons

The commute is just grueling if you live in NY. The company has too many systems after all the acquistions, that it really becomes hard to navigate through all the systems to find what you need.

Pros

When you find one...let me know! They have a nice child care facility across the street.

Cons

The management is totally incompetent. I have never worked for an organization that has so much fat at the top that adds no value what-so-ever. Perhaps this is why the Bank lost $40B and counting..... UBS takes the term "Good Ole Boys" to a new level. If you are not part of the Sr Management dont plan on making any money, getting promoted, or enjoying any time off. You will be however asked to work endless hours wtih promises of recognition once things "get better". Talent is definately not managed from with in. I have seen many new layers of mamagement brought in from the outside, with little value added, while the same worker bees do all the work.
