Pros

Generous base hourly, adequate staffing, good retirement benefits, 12hr shifts, diverse staff, pod system (usually 3 RNs to 4 patients = each pod can cover its own breaks internally while remaining within CA state mandated ratio laws), PRIDE acronym, 403B plus 457B

Cons

Disappointing Long Term Disability coverage, 9% of gross salary deducted (pre-tax) for mandatory UC Retirement Plan contribution.

Pros

A great internship for numerous hours of clinical experience in very specialized areas. The preceptors are very knowledgeable and seen as nutrition experts in the medical team.

Cons

12-month internship and finishes in late-July. In comparison to other internships, this is quite late and may mean for less job opportunities post-internship.
