Harm Reduction, DeLIVER Care

Pros

We cure people of Hep C who could not be cured anywhere else. I also get to do presentations about Hep C, DeLIVER Care, Safe Drug use and Narcan in the community and Jails. We have a LEA (Lived Experience Alliance) program where people from the community navigate others who trust them. Combining this with the remarkable UCSF approach to research and care is an honor.

Cons

Not much but keep the community engaged with the work.

Poor Leadership

Business Outlook

Pros

Good pay and good benefits

Cons

UCSF has talented staff, but poor leadership overshadows the positives. New rules for 2026 clearly show that administration doesn’t care about employees’ well-being or work-life balance. Communication is inconsistent, and staff concerns are ignored. Morale has suffered because leadership prioritizes policy over people.
