Pros

UMC is an outstanding hospital organization and is well represented by the amazing people that work there. Working in a hospital environment can provide you to experience many difficult situations, but the positive and encouraging environment of UMC and my many co-workers made it a little easier.

Cons

Lubbock in general is not the most ideal of places to be.

Pros

I love the culture. I don't dread coming in to work. I've been to every floor of the hospital, and for the most part, people enjoy where they work. They work to keep their employees and keep them happy in almost all departments.

Cons

Every nursing job has downfalls, and every business/hospital has downfalls. Their are very limited areas of the hospital that are not the most pleasant to work with. However; with being on their Magnet Journey, I suspect these areas have an overhaul coming too.

Pros

Absolutely amazing experience working at UMC. I worked at UMC for about 6 years and held several positions until I graduated from nursing school and worked in the ER. The staff and administration are some of the best I've seen. Very supportive staff/administration with great teamwork. You are recognized for your hard work, great staff to patient ratios, and administration that supports you constantly. If I hadn't moved, I would still be working at UMC.

Cons

I can't think of any cons! Such a great work environment.
