Pros

The patients were pleasant and the food was good in the cafeteria.

Cons

Staff there were not friendly and inviting. It was very clicky and people would talk about you behind your back and try to get you fired. It truly was an unpleasant working experience with the staff. They were rude and very unprofessional starting from management down to the nurse aides. The sitters were some of the worst employees I have ever encountered there as well. Patient safety and care was not a priority for them.

Pros

The only pros I can say that were going for this company while working here was the paid vacation and my patients. I couldn't wait to get away from here for a week. I loved helping my patients even when the overpaid nurses and other staff wouldn't take the time out to help them seek out RX programs and programs to help them cover their healthcare, I took my time out to help them.

Cons

I have no clue where to start because so much happened when I worked here. For starters, when I was pregnant, they accidentally paid me over 128 hrs of PTO and then when I tried to give it back to HR, they wouldn't take it and I was negative PTO for years. Then, every time we had meetings, my ideas were never listened to and I never got praised for any of the hard work I did. I helped many patients get free prescriptions through a patient assistance program by myself but yet no one even acknowledged me in my company for my dedication. There was extreme favoritism among the managers and some of the employees. Some of the staff got by with bad behavior while others that were not the manager's favorite were put through the ringer. UNC has no compassion when you lose a pet or even a loved one. No flowers, no card, no nothing and they expect you to practically come to work and not take your PTO for funeral leave. Management talks behind your back. You ask how would I know, well because during my decade long employment there, I could here a prior manager talking about me and she didn't know I was in the bathroom. You are supposed to enjoy your job, I was miserable here. Then let's not mention when COVID came and UNC forced everyone to take the COVID shot or you would get fired. I had no choice but to take the shot and it almost took me out. I had a heart attack from the second shot and yet when I got back to work the prior manager said I made up all my symptoms. I also took another position and was promised for 2 years I would get a raise and NOTHING. Then to find out the PAC was making over 24$ an hour and me as an experience CMA was only make 16.80 and hr. Yeah-there is something wrong with that picture. I also tried to apply for the PAC and they shot me down 9, yes 9 times! Never gave me a reason why. I was HIGHLY qualified. I honestly think it was a racism issue but we will never know. Then I just found out that someone I know was hired on and I use to be her lead. So you tell me what is wrong with your company? How can you treat someone so poorly and get by with it? I gave you almost 10 years and tried to move up your corporate ladder and each time you shot me down. Oh and not to mention, they would give the crappiest gifts out for the holidays. How about a grocery gift card or something like that and not some dumb shirt or a tumbler. Here's the real kicker. The same job I applied for at the PAC and got shot down for is THE SAME JOB I AM DOING WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. And this company actually sees my potential and I have already moved up the ladder. So yeah, run away from here if you are looking a job. You will be on 15 different bp meds and anti depressants.

Pros

I enjoyed everyone that I worked with, including the providers and management team.

Cons

There are not enough staff or providers, and there is no meaningful effort at UNC to increase staffing. They've made modest pay increases but it's not enough to drive up staffing levels, so the people who are left are doing the work of 2-3 people, and there is no strategy to fix it. Instead they do the worst thing they could have done - implement hiring freezes.
