Pros

You are working for a Natural & Organic food distributor There is an onsite co-op where you can buy and try out some of the natural products You can order cases of product from the warehouse They offer lots of options for health insurance

Cons

Archaic business system interface with multiple failed attempts to upgrade Multiple different types of business systems across the nation that all require unique working knowledge, and only a handful of people have true proficiency in. A sink or swim mentality in most departments Greedy executives who only care about their bottom line, their bonus', and their stock dividends. No matter how much work you may put in to a company wide project that might save hundreds of thousands of dollars, you will not see a dime of it in any kind of bonus or personal recognition, only the Executives will reap the benefits. While being a fortune 500 company, they cannot manage to pay their work force a LIVING wage. Most of the department managers will not budget for properly rewarding their staff's hard work, and instead choose to go the lazy route of having peers send digital "thank you cards" to each other. Sales people are typically difficult to work with as they only care about getting the necessary sales numbers to reach their bonus' bench marks which means they treat every other department like crap, and management lets it happen. No matter how much hard work and time is invested by any other department, only the specific Sales manager gets the sales bonus, which leads to them frequently requesting the moon and back which management lets slide. Outsourced / Contracted IT personnel who cannot assist with even the most basic technical issues.

Pros

Honestly trying to think of something... since leaving the company, everything has been 1000% better. But there was a casual dress code and occasional fruit, so I’ll give them that.

Cons

Sub-market pay. Sub-market benefits. Sub-market PTO days. Sub-market holidays. Crazy point systems (mainly warehouse, but also hourly office). Indecent relationships in the offices (multiple sites) “Leaders” not promoting those on National Guard or other service. Goals purposely kept ambiguous enough to retract any bonuses. Increasing work loads with no increasing compensation. A lot of “leaders” hide behind their manager and/or teams to avoid accountability. Constantly needing to cover yourself by asking everything to be in writing at an absurd level because you know if you don’t you’ll be screwed... much more than your typical cover-my-butt activity. And even with the backup in writing, you’ve done something wrong. It’s the same corporate leadership that has overseen stock drop from $80 to $7 through complete mismanagement of teams and M&As... no one will get internally promoted to higher levels. Those spots are all accounted for and not hitting KPIs doesn’t disqualify an individual. They keep pushing for top line improvements at the expense of margins with dodgey accounting tactics.

Pros

Some of the people were amazing to work with. Company was exciting to initially be a part of.

Cons

Strategic bullying and intimidation occurring at Group Manager level in Corporate and I was personally targeted. Job performance rating are pushed back on when you get a 4 or 5 and each Group Manager enforces others to revise their evaluations. Basically, no one in the company deserves a above average rating for their accomplishments.
