Pros

They gave good training, and although the work itself was hard, the work load was somewhat do-able. Also, after a year of working at UPS, you do get benefits.

Cons

The downside is that the batteries in the scanner kept on dying, which meant that I had to keep on going back to get another battery. This resulted in the boxes piling up big time!

Pros

Plenty of benefits and a strong company culture. There are little to no jobs that offer full benefits to part-time workers. The pay is competitive and you have a sense of ownership in what you are doing. The tuition reimbursement is wonderful as a strait check to your mailbox. Once establish it is a great environment and close nit community. The labor force is unionized and offers great benefits to individuals.

Cons

The labor force is unionized. It is unfortunate when people take advantage of a system put in place to help them. some most senior members are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum of work ethic and values. It's the few 'rotten eggs' that make a bad name for union workers. The hours for operations are in the middle of the night or early in the morning (like 4:00 am early). This can be disruptive to your day life. IT IS HARD WORK and it is not a cake walk (in most cases). Most people take too lightly and are in a state of shock about our expectations and type of work ethic the company looks in people. I have met many people who temp during the holiday season and or just start off who are one time shows and never come back. The job is by no means impossible or unreasonable, but in order to by the #1 logistics company in the world and #3 in service, only behind google and apple, hard work is necessary. Opportunities are few and far in upwards movement on both sides of the house of management and union (depending on the center). It's a matter of luck if there is an opening, especially to move up to full time. There are facilities everywhere but movement is highly discouraged unless you meet certain criteria. Limiting but I can understand why.
