Pros

Great resume builder. Few good managers in the park. - Always stuff to do.

Cons

50k salary (with MIP) -No support -The environment is focused on blame and what your doing wrong. No one was to focus on the problems. - Horrible attitudes - Good managers are way over worked. And have no time to focus on there people. -Strongly recommend for a college school graduate to take 2 or 3 years to get the experience. It’s going to be a joke how horrible it’s run. But I personally leave a lot from others mistakes and if you put a little effort in. It goes a long way, to boost your confidence. It’s really just a crap situations and company. Don’t even think about joining if you have a family. If I put all my hours together. I couldn’t made more than $10 an hour. Did I mention no overtime pay. And weekend, nights, and anything want is requires.

Pros

For your immediate team, the people are excellent almost tribe like. If you have put in enough time you will have a strong team.

Cons

There is no opportunity for advancement nor promotion unless you live in 2 particular cities for IT people. The company will not invest any resources or capital to ensure good workers remain, or continue to advance, learn and grow unless you live in those 2 particular cities. There is no flexibility for family time for anybody in IT in SCS. There is an unstated expectation you should be able to continuously work 60+ hours a week without stopping all year potentially. Work weeks are regular 60-80 hours if you let it happen with no respite nor comp days. This is not possible for any human long term. They get torn down. There are not enough "technical" people/resources being hired to take up slack or help with infrastructure and software IT responsibilities across the board. Contractors will not be kept after a certain amount of time even though they gain a lot of knowledge and become valuable to the teams they work with. The management of software and hardware updates is always done in a frantic, fire fighting mode after the lead time to act has already past because there is not enough technical people around. The bigger parent company, UPS, with many more resources always takes precedent and expects SCS to magically have the same capacity to update all their systems in the same time frame they do.

Pros

Good pay for union position

Cons

Too many to name without a publisher, but the Local Management is severely lacking in both honesty and integrity as noted below: 1) They are constantly late and leave early, as they adjust their own personal schedule to meet their needs, not the office schedule. 2) Pass their own responsibilities to the hourly personnel because they are not properly trained or qualified to do it themselves, or they just wont do it. 3) They hire "friends" of management who are not qualified for their position, so they are not held accountable for doing the same job. 4) Some management personnel can't/won't unload a truck as they DO NOT have to, as they"don't want to drive a forklift" . This has been happening for over 10 year now, and still ongoing. 5) They decided that non-management personnel has to open/close the facility because they don't want to work their scheduled hours. This is time theft. 6) They pick and choose when and whom they want to enforce whatever rules/policies they "deem" important. 7) They have threatened employees with both write ups and termination, both written and verbal, for filing grievances on management. 8) Created and enabled a very dysfunctional workforce by their continued and flagrant ignorance on being consistent in their implement and enforcement of Company Policies and Procedures. 9) Corporate Company Management seems to be lacking overall as their is always a "pass the buck" mentality, as "someone else will get to it when they seem fit", or some other senior management person approves it (HR, IE or Corporate, or any combination thereof.
