Pros

The Army was a great place to work with people always willing to step up to the challenge. A very fun job that was not overly boring or repetitive.

Cons

Very difficult to balance a family life with life in the Army. This is ultimately why I left. Deployments were fun, but the ramp up to them was killer.

Pros

1-The benefits are the best available. 2- Your family is well taken care of. 3- Pride in knowing you are the best. 4- Advancement is only limited by yourself. 5-You make a direct impact in peoples lives 6- I made $40k after 2 years.

Cons

1- Constant deployments are hard on you and the family. 2- Some soldiers get deployed every other year and some are retiring without a single deployment. 3- The amount of hours worked can easily be 60-80 a week state side and 100+ deployed.
