Pros
Challenging, team environment all that you see in movies but better. Yes there will be trying, difficult moments but it is these challenges and ones ability to face them and overcome them that will make one a better person. Great gear and issued equipment, much of it being gratuitous issue items that you keep forever. Great pay and benefits if you make it a career.
Cons
Sometimes a lack of focus and lack of senior leaders to voice to the politicians in a more open, direct manner the proper course of action the US should take.
