Pros

You get lots of good training that is useful whether you stay in or get out. It is especially helpful if you get out to get a good job.

Cons

It is very hard to get promoted b/c of all the re-class (see pros). Also, you will end up being outranked by people who have less time in service than you b/c they are imagery analysts or some other type of analysts. Take it in strides, get our education and training then get out. That's my advice. Good job over all though, I've been taken care of.

Pros

Great professional growth and training opportunities. Build confidence, reliability, and teamwork abilities. One of the best chances to learn to lead people in high stress, dynamic situations. Very respected as a previous employer.

Cons

Work life balance is very difficult. Deployments are happening too often. There is some inequity in assignments and deployment schedules (some people don't pull their fare share). Due to so many people getting out, almost everyone gets promoted, so there is no real incentive to stand out.

Pros

feeling statisified that I was contributing to orginization's effort to keep troops trained and ready to defend and keep themselves alive. Increase thier ability to cause significant damage to the enemy's ability to keep fighting.

Cons

Big Army needs to follow the SF doctrine of streamlined decision making. Put it in the hands of those who actually carry out the mission. Politicians need to have less say in how wars are fought or follow the troops into the field to implement the politicians misguided strageties.
