Pros

learn about the demographies and life circumstances of people and neighborhoods in your city. set flexible hours that are most conducive to yielding household contact.

Cons

4 year minimum for field workers to be eligible for public sector benefits. fluctuating hours and available cases to work. having to navigate reluctance, objections, and refusals from households who are scam-sensitive have not heard of non-decennial Census work. U.S Census, likely due to the confidential nature of the work, does not seem to do much national marketing around Census work to cultivate trust at a household level. Census does not provide much direction around converting household objection towards survey participation.
