Pros

It is a stable place to work, and the work is important. Some of the most important data in the world are collected, processed, analyzed, and published here. There are many compotent people, and the work environment is fairly casual. Benefits are standard federal gov't benefits, which is positive relative to the private sector.

Cons

While standard federal government beneifts are included, they are cheap in not offering optional benefits like student loan repayment. They wasted a lot of money on the deccenial census. Their information office might as well have descended from Soviet propoganda experts. Management is mixed - some offices have great managers, others not so much. Suitland is a ghetto.
