Temporary employment with no chance of getting hired on; no benefits; no feedback on your producitivity (they have the data since the hand held device has GPS). Spent a whole week in training and our unit completely canvassed assigned areas in less than 6 weeks! They hired too many people and probably didn't allow for the efficiency of the hand held device in speeding up the process of verifying addresses.

The only real downside was the fact that I was only employed with them for a little more than a month. They hired twice as many people as were needed, thinking that some of them would quit. Many were unemployed at the time, however, so not as many quit. My crew was supposed to have our area done within 8 weeks, but it took us less than 2. The main reason why the field work didn't last so long was the fact that the hand held computers made the work very easy to do, and as I mentioned, there were twice as many people as were needed.
