Pros

Working at the Census is great because there’s so many different people working on so many different things that a lot of the time you’re able to collaborate and knowledge share across divisions. Being the nation’s statistical power house, the Census offers lots of room for movement around the various divisions within the Census.

Cons

The hiring process is extremely slow and we’re severely overworked because of hiring freezes and limited staff due to budget constraints. unfortunately as a government agency we are greatly affected by whatever administration is in power. Very wishy washy with the telework agreements. Right now non-managers only go in once a week but we’ve been told it likely will increase soon. Remote work is virtually nonexistent unless you’re lucky.
