Pros

The pay is high, you can choose your own hours, and you work in familiar areas

Cons

people are usually unwilling to give information, or people are often not home and a lot of time is spent going back to the same houses

Pros

You're applying to the Census Bureau for a reason. A lot of of the bureaucracy is mind-numbing, but it's necessary; also, you get paid for training and you receive travel stipends. Competence and efficiency are rewarded.

Cons

Again, you are working for the Census Bureau. The bureaucracy can be mind-numbing. The job is temporary and there is little room for advancement.
