      fun for the outgoing, diplomatic and tenacious. research and problem solve for information gathering.

      Pros

      reasonable pay and hours. temporary work. good experience and challenge people skills.

      Cons

      some places/people are scary and dangerous. disorganized higher-ups and they lost forms. a whole group was fired. you really dont want the gov't running anything important. in a word - backwards and inefficient.

      Pros

      Very nice but confusing building. Easy to work there with many afterwork opportunities (sports, gym etc). Great promotion program you move up by steps.

      Cons

      Bad area to work in. Not much around. High crime area of Prince Georges County, Maryland (but it is a fenced in campus with security).

      Very agreeable compensation Flexible schedule Enjoyable camaraderie Sense of pride from working for the US gov't Lots of opportunities to make "Silence of the Lamb" references involving fava beans Solid, comprehensive and PAID training Good experience for individuals interested in campaign field work

      Temporary Interactions with citizens can be tenuous, unpleasant, downright creepy Lots of tedious paperwork Nobody really wants to speak with a census-taker Employers don't generally care much if you have USCB experience-- it's nearly worthless on a resume
