Pros

In theory, people are hired by merit. Salary was fair, in the 2010 economy. Training materials were fairly well prepared.

Cons

There was very little feedback in the hiring process, no way to even verify that one's skills test score had arrived where it needed to go, or when one might get called for an interview. Last-minute changes in procedures caused a lot of needless drama. Crew leaders regularly worked way over 40 hours, were expected to be available 7 days a week, with very rare OT pay.

Pros

- Meet a lot of people - Chance to work with new technology - Good exercise without being strenuous - Mostly low-stress

Cons

- If you're an enumerator, be prepared to not quite work the job you signed up for. - Lots of walking, outside, in hot weather - Training period is asinine, stressful and discouraging - There is a chance you will be sent to unfamiliar or potentially threatening locations (but you can always tell your supervisor that you feel unsafe, and they are legally obliged to send you somewhere else)
