      The Census Bureau was confused, disorganized, training was inadequate & redundant, permanent employees were incompetent.

      Pros

      Historic US event, participate in history, extra money, great temporary co-workers, meet interestin local citizens, great pencils & pencil sharpeners!

      Cons

      Disorganized, confusing questions on forms, forms and binders physically difficult to handle, incompetent permanent employees, many people refused to participate!

      Pay is generally good for public service flexible schedule - opportunity to telework twice every two weeks good benefits in general slow pace work environment

      Cons

      poor management poor leadership lack of support from management too much favoritism people who do not suck up to management don't have a chance moving up

      Pros

      Some of the best reasons to work at the US Census Bureau included, the good pay. They also compensated how much gas you used to drive your car while you were "on the job." You usually worked around your neighborhood, so there was not a long commute.

      Cons

      Some of the downsides of working at the US Census Bureau include, most of my fellow employees were retirees so many could not grasp simple concepts and felt the need to ask an overwhelming amount of questions.
