Pros

Working during the decennial census provides a great opportunity for high-paying, part-time work (sometimes potentially full-time, depending on your role). The hours, if you're part-time, are really flexible, the work is incredibly easy (even if you have to be out walking in the sun), your co-workers are probably usually going to be nice, and the hourly pay is phenomenal for the ease of the work.

Cons

The job is of course temporary, and lasts only as long as the decennial census is being conducted. There's therefore little opportunity for advancement for most positions. I didn't experience any other cons while working there.

Cons

Short lived. Door to door. Peforming useless tasks after you know information on a residence which wastes time and tax payer money
