Pros

Federal government work in investigations is rigorous, demanding and challenging. The pay is good and pensions are phenomenal. "Toys"--machine guns, high performance vehicles and authority is intoxicating.

Cons

Physically and mentally taxing. Most burn out after 15 years. It's not your average job, as you risk your life almost every day.
