Pros

Atmosphere was great. It fostered learning and movement, with a stress on personal interest. Fairly conservative, but if that isn't a big deal you would be fine.

Cons

Though the building is awesome, San Antonio isn't a great town to live in. You are far from many outdoor activities, and traffic sucks.

Pros

USAA is a very strong company with strong ties with the military. USAA has exceptional benefits and co-workers. There is a lot of opportunity to learn on the job. For example there is a fabulous mentoring program. There are also committees that you can participate on to expand your knowledge. USAA pays for your education. Management really wants to hear your ideas and many of the changes that happen come from the ground up. There are several different programs for getting your ideas to management.

Cons

Difficult to promote and I don't like the call center environment for claims adjusting. I think there could be improvement on the process of adjusting claims.

Pros

The holiday and end of year bonuses, benefits are best among San Antonio area, there were 3 Starbucks inside USAA last time I was there.

Cons

Out of my team of 18 people, I was probably the only one with prior military service, and they really dont know what it means to serve.
