Pros

Flexible and willing to work around appointments, etc.

Cons

Too many groups, not enough help. Producers can act however they want with no accountability. Team members are rude, condescending and it’s allowed. Terrible pay!

Pros

Coming into USI, I was immediately impressed with the smooth onboarding process and strong communication from all relevant parties. During my interview process, I had nearly instant communication from both the recruiting department and my would-be immediate manager. Upon accepting the offer, I could tell how invested my manager is in my success, and how the entire team is happy to help you wherever they can. USI fosters a great culture of collaboration and values input from everyone, no matter how long or short your tenure. My colleagues are a perfect blend of professional and personable. You're treated like an adult - I haven't seen any practices of micromanagement or any toxic leadership traits from anyone in management. Everyone is invested in seeing you succeed, and wins are celebrated as a team - you're an individual contributor, but you're part of something more. For new producers, there is a clear promotional track and tangible, realistic goals set forth by management.

Cons

Obviously, being in a sales role, your revenue results are your measuring stick. This isn't necessarily a con, but be prepared to get after it, especially in the beginning. If you're not great at handling rejection, or not intrinsically motivated by winning in a sales setting, you may want to look at other opportunities within the organization. Balancing your daily duties while being in training academy can be a bit overwhelming some days, but this can also be circumvented by showing up prepared and making the most of your time. Definitely a work hard, play hard role.
