Pros

Good intent in their approach and there are changes being made to create a more focused and results driven environment.

Cons

Focus a lot on culture in a unique manner. Some departments talk a lot about their feelings while other don't provide any development related to the culture.

Pros

The pay is very fair for the work performed, and the benefits are excellent. Full time positions get sick days, personal time, and vacation. You get a free cell phone and plan(although they make your number available to all customers) and you can add phones for up to 3 of your friends or family members at a ridiculously low price.

Cons

A constant stream of corporate doublespeak hits your e-mail account daily. This company pretends that they are doing something good for their customers while they try to stick them for every last dime possible. It's a profit driven business; just be honest about it and stop pretending like you're helping people. It makes it hard to sleep at night sometimes. Commissions are almost never paid the way they are supposed to be. Make sure you track your own sales and check your pay at the end of the month or you will definitely not receive fair pay. If you dispute these "errors" you will get paid, but you have to keep track of it. Senior leadership values enthusiasm and commitment to the company over talent, intelligence, or hard work. Communications from senior leaders come off as if they were trying to explain something to small children.

Pros

Better than average pay compared to national carriers. Retail Assocaiates were the face of the company so hourly pay was highly regarded and commissions were paid at the top. Wisconsin is a top market interms of USC having the top market share and they pay by far the BEST. Max pay out for new activations was $22.00 per line and upgrades you got paid on the price plan and the contract, which is far better than any other carrier in the market plan. Sales mangers get salaries between $27,000-$33,000 and Store Managers get $47,000-$60,000 both positions have a 40% bonus structure which is made up of 50% store sales, 25% company churn and 25% company cash flow. So, you control 50% of your quarterly bonus maybe, read on.

Cons

Culture at the company is a ra ra type. If you're a retail rep you have alot of power which is not a good thing, I watched good managers get fired due to retail associates feeling entitled and empowered and complaining to HR hotline for matters that should not be an issue and have resulted in terminations. It's great to be empowered but I have seen to many people use it to their advantage. The other is mangers are at the mercy of their reps. the reps and all employees fill out this survey called "Culture Survey" that is a way the company can take a pulse of whats going on in the company to see what can be improved. what this boils down to is you have a management staff that manages to the employee, So, when you hold people accountable you as a manager can get negative scores from your reps which has happened just for doing your job. this again goes back to the empowerment issue. It's also not hard to figure out who in your group seems to have a problem do the math. Overall, as times change in this dow economy and USC continues to lose customers this quarter I'm sure this culture will change to a actual "sales driven enviroment" because they'll have no choice
