Pros

I love the people. Everyone is professional, friendly, and courteous: co-workers (direct labor), managers (overhead), and office support (indirect labor, e.g. security, benefits, and travel office personnel), as well as the customers. Unless you're one those people who needs special attention (due to previous poor performance), the managers leave you alone to do your job. Work/Life balance is good too. I don't get calls at home and don't have to work weekends or overtime. The managers respect your family and your time. If I need time off (and have the PTO), I've never been denied or even questioned. Employee referrals are rewarded well. The benefits package is competitive too (medical, dental, vision, 401K).

Cons

One of the recruiting pitches to me was "annual 3% raises built in to the contract" and that has never happened. Across the board we have seen 1%, 0.5%, and 0.0% raises for the past three years. Annual increases have not matched inflation rates (CPI 2.5% ave), in effect, the workers are making less today than several years ago, comparatively. USfalcon's 401K is weaker than competitors ($.50 matching for every $1 --i.e. if employees invest up to 6%, USfalcon will contribute 3%). The next thing could be a pro or con, depending on your personality and career goals. There are no opportunities for advancement for direct labor -- the position you're hired for today is the same position & pay you'll be in five years from now, unless you change jobs. For example, if you are hired to be a Widget Analyst III, you won't advance to a Widget Analyst IV, no matter how much experience you get.

Pros

Steady employment. Work is not difficult. Good place to work if you're just utilizing your clearance.

Cons

Keeps deadweight on beyond their need to continue to milk the contract. Working with fellow employees is the biggest obstacle to progress. Valid problems and personnel issues are continuity ignored by upper management. Incompetent site upper management; maintains the status quo for contract longevity, not progress for the customer. Toxic atmosphere; no respect or value of your expertise or opinion. Upper management will call out employees out for "not doing their job" in meetings, but when the employee shows proof, and thank you notes to leadership, it is completely ignored but the shame in the staff meeting remains, no retractions of accusations. Has and encourages employees take all the risks but fails to support them if something goes wrong. They will fire them for doing what they were encouraged. Personnel moves that make no sense or reason, and usually is more detrimental than helpful to the organization, the company, or the customer. Management doesn't care as they have one the contract for the second time and are only concerned about keeping it for 5 more years and then they will all retire with their pockets full. Won the contract, gave employees a cut of pay across the board and no celebration party for winning. Bottom Line: Profit and not people or mission oriented.

Pros

- Salary is sufficient - Flexible work hours

Cons

- Bottom end of benefits - Promotes employees with toxic personalities to move them out of teams in which they are causing conflict instead of implementing punitive measures - Poor management - Shady business practices - Extensive travel but no travel card provided, all risk is on employee to use personal credit card for official work travel
