      - A great place with great people to work with and learn from - Talented faculty - World class research facilities - UTHealth is surrounded by other world class research institute (Baylor, Rice, Methodist) which makes for very conductive environment for collaborative research - Excellent benefits

      Cons

      - The pay rate for graduate research assistants is a little low for the amount of work they do and the amount of education they hold. - Parking within in the medical center is very expensive.

      As a scientist, I feel UTHealth is in the cutting edge of medical research, with multiple research groups and helpful staff.

      Cons

      One of the problems of any big university is the difficulty of interdisciplinary collaborations. These collaborations are vital for new discoveries.
