Pros

Great scientist and physicians who do great work without the stuffiness of other area institutions; opportunities to collaborate with area institutions; new people in leadership positions are facilitating the creation of an even greater environment; great place to do a postdoc

Cons

Bureaucracy within some support staff offices is annoying. The government office vibe is at an all time high and creates many unnecessary steps in order to get simple things done. Many people find ways with work within or around the system but, the extra effort in manually filling out hard copy forms is wasted energy none the less.

Pros

Good health benefits, great parking and nice coworkers. buildings are safe. great location and easily accessible.

Cons

Low salary for animal workers. Pay is not equal and Human Resources appears to go along with Managment. MD Anderson ,Baylor,Methodist and Texas A&M all pay more for animal caretakers. nepotism is a big problem.
