Pros

Great pay and benefits Paid time off is standard

Cons

Upper management is more concerned about their salaries and bonuses than they are about the staff needs. Taking away incentives for staff while the upper management still receives annual bonuses. Reducing staff hours during Covid without eliminating bonuses for upper management sends the wrong message to the staff and reinforces the staffs beliefs that upper management doesn't care about the staff.

Pros

Not many people are trained in all forms of Ophthalmic electrophysiology so the job security is very good. Also, this is a fun and rewarding job if you love patient care and the ability to control your own schedule.

Cons

It takes a very detail oriented person that enjoys continued learning as things change as research proves better ways to do testing. You also do not have a huge back up support systems.
