Growing very fast and bureaucracy can keep things from adapting.

Pros

Fair benefits and average compensation

Cons

The administrative staff has seen a 100% turnover rate since I worked there in 2017. When I started, three people were in the process of leaving. One particular prominent doctor, considered "untouchable" due to his skillset, position, and salary, bullied administrators, interns, nurses, his assistant, other doctors, and patients. He would switch targets every few months. He bullied patients into agreeing to procedures that made more money for him, even if they were unsure at first. Higher level administration was aware of the issue, especially as there had been numerous complaints throughout the years, and refused to do anything, writing it off as a non-issue. This will continue to be an issue until the administration and the doctor leave or receive more than a slap on the wrist. Workplace culture comes from the top-down, so aside from the one doctor, this attitude permeates the department. Good employees do not stay for long, and those who stay longer usually were or become toxic themselves. Apart from the workplace culture: Months-long hiring schedule (at least 3-6) Little training. As is customary, HR is more invested in protecting the institution than the employees. As a result of the above, the work produced is not up to par and there are few standards in place.
