Pros

APPs report to APPs. Has a more robust APP leadership model than organizations in the area. APP leadership is looking for ways to ensure individuals work at their highest scope and future ways to be rewarded for going above and beyond. Many learning opportunities! Focuses a lot on DEI. I found working with a scribe very helpful.

Cons

Patient demands are increasing and the amount of in basket work is increasing for the outpatient setting. Improvement is slow on finding ways to support this increased work. MA and RN turnover rate in my department was high, but I don't think it's the same in all departments.

Thank you for the suggestion of adding more residency options for advanced practice providers. We can share this with leadership.

Pros

Benefits, PTO, sick-leave. Possibility of Student Loan forgiveness.

Cons

It's a customer service job with a medical label, so the cons of that type of position. PTO and Sick leave you have to earn it isn't what you have at the beginning. Senior leadership's vision is unclear. If you want to have work boundaries respected you may want to go elsewhere. Respect for people is what they stand for, but it doesn't go both ways as indicated as often the one they ask you not to respect is yourself. It can be a good job, but it is very hierarchal and bureacratic. Stick it out if you can, go elsewhere if you can't sort of morale thrives here.
