      Pros

      Being in the non-clinical side of things, I've seen a lot of desire from management to grow and improve continuously. Lots of opportunity to be involved in big changes and get great experiences, especially if you don't have a college degree behind you. It's also great to know that you're encouraged to apply to other positions and try to grow, as they recognize talent when they see it and would rather see you move within the organization versus losing you to another company.

      Cons

      If you're in Ambulatory Access, you're encouraged to apply to leadership / supervisory positions if you show that you're ready for it and qualified, and they'll consider your relevant experience without formal education. But if you haven't held a title like that in your past and another applicant does, you're automatically trumped. It doesn't matter if you're the best interview and are the best fit, it all comes down to who has held a leadership position before. Your interview could be better than theirs and you could have more relevant experience, but they'll still get the job over you. It's a shame that an ideal candidate is immediately out of the running the second that someone else with a prior leadership title applies for the role.

      Most of my coworkers are pleasant to work with.

      Cons

      CMA is not valued by the health system. Add more and more to duties and recently looked over for raises- when the rest of the positions in the clinic received one.
