Changing Lives in a Fun Atmosphere

This can be an amazing place to work because once you change a student's life and realize they're real people on the phone wanting to change and make a difference in their lives, it's a pretty great feeling to be a part of that and help get them started. Being around positive people all day who are upbeat and make it fun also enhances the work environment. I have a wonderful Direct who cares about her employees, encourages them to be the best they can be. She always encourages growth and development to empower us to move up as career opportunities come along. UMA has also encouraged employees to participate in the breast cancer walk and was impressed to see Steve Kemler not only participate, but walk along side us and get to know the employees. It makes you feel that UMA carries out the importance of having good culture and values as a business.

Cons

I know I am a very diligent worker, I also come from a corporate background - I always come to work on time, rarely take off, make sure I'm producing positive energy, motivating others, set the best example I can, and make sure to meet budget goals consistently. I have been here for several years now and while I may not be in management, I feel I should be better compensated when annual raises come around as I am not your average employee.

Pros

I found myself very blessed and privileged to have been able to find UMA and get hired as a recent USF graduate. Being able to work with such a diverse set of peers and student population has really been able to mold me into a well rounded employee who cant multi-task, think and do on the go, and see the fruits of our labor when our students finally walk across the stage after the laughs, tears, and long nights of studying. It's a team-like atmosphere but plenty of opportunity for individual and self-headed projects.

Cons

Your job will most likely be face paced and require you to multi-task, which is a necessity for any growing/ successful company. Be ready to commit on all levels.

Pros

The best reason to work at UMA is the fun and relaxed environment. The rewards on changing a life for a student is what keeps me motivated not to mention the fun atmosphere. My collegues and associates keeps any possible stress to a bare minimum. The compensation is great and the possibilities of advancement is here if you're looking for growth in the company (hire within).

Cons

Sometimes the noise could be a challenge but that's why we have all have noise cancelling headsets. All in all just have fun!
