Pros

As an Online Admissions Advisor there is no limit to your success. You alone hold the value to your achievements. There are many opportunities to advance, grow and strengthen your career goals. I have been an employee for 10months so far at UMA and I must say I have never grown so rapidly or felt more welcome with a company. Not only do we help students change THEIR lives, we also have the chance to change our own with the outstanding opportunites. UMA has unmatchable energy and enthusiasm from the staff straight to our students. We are a family and with family/teamwork you can accomplish greatness. I personally continue to experience extra activities hosted by UMA, such as: Breast Cancer Awareness Walks, Club Sport events, Holiday events, etc... UMA not only supports their employees and offers benefits but also provides excellence in the comunity. I am able to balance my work life as well my personal life with the flexibility of our schedules. It's great to have a sense of freedom and not feel like you are being micromanaged while in the work place like most careers. However, there are times when you may need to stay late or come in early for student appointments. If you ever have the opportinuty to become a UMA employee, don't let it slip!

Cons

Honestly, the only challenge you may encounter here at UMA is letting yourself get the best of you. Along with high energy and excitement comes the stress of meeting a company goal and personal goal. You must stand up to company expectations and try your hardest to exceed them. For me, I have an outstanding work ethic and know what needs to get done and I do it without hesitation. If you are lazy, a procrastinator or just don't really care; then UMA may not be the best fit for you. I have also advanced in my time here at UMA and now share my leadership skills/knowledge with others.

Pros

I believe that UMA genuinely has the students best interest in mind and strives to help them better their lives from beginning to end. This makes it very rewarding when you can believe in your company any what you help them accomplish. Being treated as a professional, and be expected to perform like one as well. If you are a dedicated worker trying to make a name for yourself there is ample opportunity for growth. You can expect your management team to help develop your professional skills. UMA offers very competitive starting salaries. Management excels at fostering a fun work environment not only in the office, but also by hosting team outings, and quarterly events to recognize accomplishments. It's pretty rare being able to enjoy going to work every day.

Cons

Some departments have higher turn over, but if you come in with an open mind and willingness to learn this is a great place to start your career. Lack of interdepartmental communication can sometimes slow student progress.

Pros

decent pay great and fun co-workers good experience on resume

Cons

turnover is absolutely horrible. new people every 3 months! (just absolutely ridiculous) very political changes all the time. no stability whatsoever. under intense and heavy pressure to adhere to metrics. if metrics aren't met, there is the possibility of write up and termination no ethics and integrity

Ultimate Medical Academy Response

Helping soon-to-be graduates start their careers in the field of healthcare is both rewarding and highly demanding, and we applaud our staff members that are able to persist at tackling this challenge. Your feedback underscores our high expectations of each team member at fulfilling our commitment to the student and often the byproduct can be certain team members realizing this is not the career path for them. We’re sorry to hear you felt this pressure personally, but believe that the UMA staff performs with the utmost integrity and ethics – we demand and expect it of all our staff. We wish you luck in your future endeavors.
