A Great Place to Work and Grow

Pros

I’ve been able to develop my career here, and I’m proud of what the company has become. Some of the most talented people in Richmond work at Unboxed, and our clients are great. We get to explore new ideas, techniques, and technologies. The culture is very fun and friendly. Everybody seems to get along, and I’ve made some life-long friends here. The work hours are flexible, and working at your desk isn’t mandatory if you can be more productive at home or at a coffee shop.

Cons

Starts and stops on some projects make it difficult to schedule production. Some employees must fill multiple roles, spreading them thin.

Pros

I've worked at Unboxed since we were a much smaller staff, and it's been a privilege to see the company grow and become more sophisticated, while still maintaining a big heart. The culture welcomes and encourages creativity, ownership, and humor; and the people can't be beat. They're crazy-talented and have each other's backs. I've learned so much about simplicity and content strategy, I've met lifelong friends and incredible clients, and I've been given countless opportunities to learn and grow. Your managers will listen if you want to gain new skills or tackle new challenges. (Thank you, Unboxed!)

Cons

If you're uncomfortable with open communication and constructive feedback, perhaps look elsewhere! In a smaller-sized company like Unboxed with occasional fast-turnarounds, you need to be proactive and manage your time wisely. You also need a willingness to listen actively and be flexible.

Opportunity and Growth

Pros

I've learned more at Unboxed than I ever could have expected. Personally and professionally, I've grown so much since I started. Unboxed has a "work hard, play hard," culture that leads to tight-knit teams and a truly motivating workspace. The day-to-day is about more than just getting the job done--it's about creating engaging, customized training solutions that make a big splash and an even bigger impact for the end user.

Cons

As with any agency or client services environment, the team is often at the mercy of client needs and timelines. While we're always happy to do what it takes to create the best products for our partners, we have to be careful that the busy seasons don't lead to burnout.
