Pros

-The ideology and values of the company seem great! -The CEO seems like a good guy based on a group discussion he had with new employees. -Most workers are great people. -They have a good working environment atmosphere.

Cons

-Seasonal work seems scary after what i went through. -Took about two and a half weeks to finish two days worth of training. -Got terminated with a phone call a few days after THANKSGIVING!!!!. It was also the day i was expecting my first schedule for the upcoming week so to say i was surprised would be an understatement. -I got no explanation of termination by the person who called until i asked "WHY?" & the response was we have limited shifts and too many people. (I guess that was my fault) -I really never got a sense that i mattered which is evident with my termination which came out of the blue. -Termination came before the end of the season which was told to us was December 20th but to be fair they said they could terminate at any moment.

We apologize that your time with us was cut so short! We are taking the appropriate steps to make sure that this does not happen to our seasonal team members again. Our biggest challenge remains providing a great experience for our seasonal workforce. With 5-fold growth in our team in an 8-week time frame, this remains a work in progress. We’ve made a big investment in training and development and strengthening our management team and the experience gets better each year. Thank you for your review and your willingness to endorse our values and work atmosphere. Anytime we fall short, we want to hear about it and, while we’d prefer to have someone speak to their manager or our HR team, we appreciate the opportunity to respond to this post.

Pros

As a Brooklyn resident, location is very convenient. Most of the people outside of management are good, caring and extremely hardworking.

Cons

Upper management seems clueless about running a successful e-commerce/retail organization. Creative vision is sorely lacking. Innovative, out-of-the box ideas are constantly rejected in favor of generic "safe" ideas. Poor merchandise strategy. Cheaply made products are constantly being let on the site without being properly vetted. No career path for entry and mid-level creative employees. Frequent long hours with NO overtime, bonuses or any form of gratitude (a free dinner now and then would be nice!) shown towards the people who are keeping the site running.
